Data Privacy Policy

Last update: 24.05.2018

Data protection

The protection of your personal data is a high priority to us at Simorgh Kulturaustauschverein (The Simorgh). We process your data exclusively in compliance with legal requirements and data protection regulations (EU GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (Telecommunications Act 2003). In this Data Privacy Policy, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within our website.

Usage of this website generally does not require disclosure of personal data. Where personal data is collected (for example name, address or email address), this is done, as far as possible, solely on a voluntary basis. This data will not be disclosed to third parties without your explicit consent, except in cases described in this Data Privacy Policy and in the case of mandatory national legislation. Please note that data transmission over the Internet (for example, when communicating via email) may have security vulnerabilities. A complete protection of data against third party access is not possible.

Contact via email

If you contact us by email, your data will be stored to process the request, in case of follow-up questions, and as long as is needed depending on your interaction with us, or as otherwise prescribed by law. We will not share this information without your consent.

Disclosure to third parties will generally not take place without your consent, unless applicable data protection regulations justify a transfer, or we are legally obliged to do so. You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect.

In case of revocation, your data will be deleted immediately. You may always inform yourself about the data stored about you.

Online Shop

You can order on our online shop without prior registration. For this purpose, we have integrated components from PayPal, an online payment service provider that processes payments through so-called PayPal accounts that are virtual private or business accounts and managed via an email address. In addition, PayPal has the ability to process virtual payments through credit cards if a user does not have a PayPal account.

During the order process in our online shop via PayPal, data of the buyer are automatically transmitted to PayPal. By selecting this payment option, the buyer agrees to the transmission of their personal data required for payment processing. This personal data usually includes first name, last name, address, email address, IP address, and possibly telephone number, mobile phone number or other data required for payment processing. The purpose of this data transmission is payment processing and fraud prevention. The personal data may be transferred by PayPal to credit reporting agencies to check identity and credit. PayPal may disclose personal information to affiliates and service providers or subcontractors, to the extent necessary to fulfill its contractual obligations or to process the data on behalf of it. The European operating company of PayPal is PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. & Cie. S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, 2449 Luxembourg, Luxembourg. For more information, please read their Privacy Policy.

The following data are also stored with us to fulfill the contract: name, address, email address, in order to fulfill the contract. A transfer of data to third parties does not take place, with the exception of the transmission of the credit card data to the processing bank / payment service provider for the purpose of debiting the purchase price. In the case of a conclusion of contract, all data from the contractual relationship are stored until the expiry of the tax retention period (7 years). The personal data name, address, purchased goods and date of purchase are also stored until the end of product liability (10 years). Data processing takes place on the basis of the statutory provisions of § 96 (3) TKG and Art. 6 para. 1 lit a (consent) and / or lit b (necessary for fulfillment of the contract) of the GDPR. For any complaints, please contact us at info@thesimorgh.org. We will take care of your request as soon as possible and will assist you until we find a solution, and hereby inform you that in the case of unresolved matters you have the right to apply to the EU online dispute resolution platform. We do our best to resolve all issues directly.
