Research on the Impact of the Iranian Diaspora
Published in August, 2016
The Simorgh is proud to sponsor a ground-breaking research study in partnership with Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam’s sociology department. The aim of the study is to understand the impact of Iranian migrants in Europe, how they have integrated, been educated, how they define their identity and so forth. The survey is based on an online questionnaire, translated into Persian, English, German, French and Swedish. It gathers descriptive data demographics, social capital, attitudes, perceptions and the form and intensity/frequency of political participation of the Iranian diaspora in Europe.
With the intention of publishing the results and contributing to scientific research about the society of Iranian migrants, besides publishing the results of the first articles that were written based on the results of Phase I of this research project, last year they were also presented at conferences of Iranian readings at the University of Vienna (Association for Iranian Studies, 2016), Migration and Political Engagement at the University of Manchester (Migration and Political Engagement, 2017) and at the International Society of Political Psychology (International Society of Political Psychology, 2016). The results of the Phase II of this research project will also be published in scientific articles.
